Match Schedule:

Notes about matches:

• Wrestlers must ride the bus to and from all matches unless they have a written note from a guardian.  Be sure to check out with a coach if you are not riding the bus back to school.  
• Wrestlers will take a bus to the 6th Grade Tourney, but transportation is NOT provided back to Mead Middle.
• No bus will be available for the 7th and 8th Grade Tourney; guardians will be responsible for transportation.
• Wrestlers are expected to wear collared, button up shirts or nice sweaters on days of competition.
• Wrestlers must attend each practice or have an excused absence in order to participate in matches or tournaments.  Students who meet these conditions will be on the traveling squad and every attempt will be made to get matches for these dedicated athletes.

General notes:

• Practices will be held Monday through Thursday from 2:50 until 4:45pm  (1st practice is January 25th), Monday from 2:50 until 4:00
• Headgear will be provided for practice and matches if needed.
• Wrestlers with braces will need to purchase protective mouth guards from a sporting goods store.
• Team singlets and warm-ups will be provided for matches only.
• Wrestlers are required to wear wrestling shoes; the pair they choose to wear should be reserved for wrestling only and have soles that will not leave marks on the mats.
• A limited number of wrestling shoes have been donated and there may be an opportunity to borrow a pair for the season.
• Shorts and T-shirts will be worn to practices.
• Wrestlers should always wear tight briefs or an athletic supporter during all practices/matches.
• Injured wrestlers are expected to attend all practices.
• Missing a practice with an unexcused absence will result in not wrestling the next match.
• Please make sure that your ride is ready to pick you up at 4:45 each practice.
• Wrestlers need to shower nightly the moment they get home.  Practice gear should be washed nightly.  Follow these guidelines to avoid contracting and spreading any skin diseases.

To participate in the wrestling program:

• Pay a $55.00 fee via RevTrack registration
• Physicals are not required, but are a good idea before participating in any sport.

WRESTLING PLEDGE

I promise to be a good representative of my school and to display good sportsmanship at all times. I understand that poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated and may result in dismissal from the wrestling team. I promise to treat all of my teammates and opponents with respect. I understand that bullying, teasing, and other disrespectful acts directed toward my teammates and opponents will not be tolerated and are grounds for dismissal from the wrestling team. I understand the expectations listed and agree to work hard at practices, obey all school and district rules, and do my best to make my school proud.
