About Extracurricular Activities

Mead Middle School offers a variety of extracurricular activities that fosters meaningful relationships, academic achievement and individual pride for students.

Best Buddies International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).  At Mead Middle School, our best buddies club fosters friendship between students without disabilities and those living with disabilities.  We will hold Best Buddies events once a month starting in October. More information to follow.

The Math Counts Competition Program provides the extra incentive and the perfect atmosphere for students to push themselves to achieve more in mathematics. Consisting of fun and creative problems, the Math Counts competitions have written and oral rounds, as well as individual and team components. Though challenging and non-routine, the competition problems focus on the 6th through 8th grade standards of the National Council of Teachers in Mathematics. This club is for highly math-motivated students.
