Please visit the newly created website http://meadcommunitycalendar.com for a complete listing of all events that the public is invited to attend relating to our community as a whole, including our schools, our town, our clubs, our churches, etc. It is our hope that by consolidating everything into one place, there is less likely of a chance that we “double-book” ourselves. If you have an public event that you would like to post to this website, please submit it to email@example.com. Share with your friends and neighbors.
The website is sponsored by K2 Communications, LLC.
Jr Solar Sprint Club:
Would you like to design, build, and race a car powered a lithium battery or the sun? If so, then consider joining the Junior Solar Sprint Club and Competition. An informational meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 17 from 3-3:30 p.m. in Mrs. Frade’s room. You must attend this meeting to be considered for a spot on one of four teams. Only 16 spots are available. If you cannot attend, but are still interested, please see Mrs. Frade by Friday.
As you know, this year all students in Colorado will be taking CMAS testing in place TCAP. Because CMAS is a computerized test, we can no longer test all students in one week like the old TCAP test. The testing schedule for CMAS will begin on March 9th and run through May 14th. I know this sounds like quite a lot, but keep in mind that with the exception of 7th grade, (there is an addition of a social studies test), the number of testing sessions is exactly the same as TCAP. It is my commitment that testing will not take over the school for 4th quarter. For the most part, our schedule will remain the same. This means students will take English tests in their English classes, Math tests in their Math classes, and Social Studies and Science tests in their Social Studies and Science classes. Therefore, with the exception of the class periods when testing is taking place, instruction will carry on as usual. A complete schedule of when grade levels are taking what tests can be found here. To help us with testing, please do everything you can to have your student attend on the scheduled days. If you have any questions about the CMAS testing, please contact me at the school.

Mead Middle School is participating in the Artist-In-Residence program sponsored by Arts Longmont. Students are working with a local professional artist, Mary Diamond to create a mural in the cafeteria. This should be a great creative community endeavor for all art students at the school.
