Veterans – Thank You!
Thank you to all the Veterans and their families who joined us for breakfast this morning. Our NJHS and Student Council students enjoyed speaking with our Veterans and look forward to this annual tradition at Mead Middle!

Lost & Found
Our Lost & Found is overflowing! Please encourage your student to stop by and see if anything belongs to them. We will be donating unclaimed items on Friday, Nov.14. If you’d like help checking for something specific in the pictures below, feel free to call our office, 970-535-4446.

Parent Advisory Committee (PAC)
All Mead Middle parents are welcome to join the PAC meeting on Monday, Nov. 10 at 4:30 here at the school.
Food Drive
One of our Mead Middle School traditions is helping a local food bank. This year the Table of Hope food bank is asking that we help refill their shelves. Starting on November 12th, we will begin collecting the following items for the food bank. Grade levels will be competing against each other for our year long “Big Dawg” competition and Capture Flag during our assembly. If you can help purchase any of these items, the Table of Hope would greatly appreciate it! Collection ends on Thursday, November 20th at 9 am.

Girls Basketball
Girls basketball registration is open through Nov. 21st. Registration can be found here. Please see here for detailed season information, including a calendar that shows our practices and game schedules.
Winter Cheer Club
Ready for the Girls’s Basketball season spirit? Winter Cheer Club begins Monday, Dec. 1st and practices will be Monday through Thursday from 3:00 – 4:30. Register here through Friday, Nov. 21st. See here for more information or reach out to Coach Evans, [email protected] or Coach McIntire, [email protected] with any questions.

988 Colorado Mental Health Line
A new state law requires schools to share information about the 988 Colorado Mental Health Line. The service provides free, confidential support 24/7 from trained specialists through calls, texts, or live chats. Families can learn more by visiting 988Colorado.com.
SNAP Benefit Update from CDE
The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) has asked us to share this information with our community: Due to the federal government shutdown, SNAP benefits for November may be delayed. School meals are still available. If you need additional food before your SNAP benefits are available, there are local resources that can help:
- Colorado 211: Call 2-1-1- or 866-760-6489 or visit www.211colorado.org
- Feeding Colorado: Visit www.feedingcolorado.org/find-food or email [email protected]
- Hunger Free Colorado Food Resource Hotline: 855-855-4626
Student Fees
All student fees for the 1st and 2nd quarter are loaded into Infinite Campus. Fees can be paid directly through the parent portal Infinite Campus.
Health Office Reminders
How sick is too sick to send your student to school? Please see here for the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment guidelines.
Attendance Updates & Absences
It is very important when a student is absent from school that the parent/guardian telephone on the morning of the absence (970) 535-4446.
Prearranged Absences: If a student knows he/she will be absent, the parent/guardian must contact the office. Failure to prearrange an absence may result in the absence not being excused.
Parents have 48 hours to excuse any absences or tardies. We encourage parents to obtain a doctor note to excuse the absence and submit that to the front office.
Make-Up Work:
- Check Schoology for homework and assignments.
- Collect any missed worksheets from the designated area in each classroom.
- See each teacher upon return.
Safety Reminders:
We have had students walking along the ditch to parents waiting to pick up their student along Welker Ave. after school. We realize after school pick ups are busy, but safety is our first priority and ask that parents and students use pick up/drop off lanes on our school grounds.
Parking Lot:
Drop students off on the West curb.
- If you are dropping off or picking up a student, please pull as far forward as possible in the lane and only drop off/pick up students at the curb. Please don’t “double park” and drop off/pick up students. It is dangerous for students to cross the pick up lane traffic to get to a car on the other side.
- The west curb is for “quick” drop offs. If you are going to park for an extended period of time, please park in a parking spot.
- If parking in the lot, please leave space for kids to walk in between cars. Also, please be very careful when pulling away from your spot.
- Please talk to your child about not running out into the parking lot to your car. Please reinforce that you will pick them up on the curb, or that they can use the crosswalk to get to your car in the parking lot.
- Please stay off your cell phone in our parking lot.
- Finally, please drive slowly and be patient with others. Don’t let frustration cause a preventable accident.
